4. Dan Pink: The puzzle of motivation
In this talk, Dan Pink talks about a study completed by a Princeton scientist that demonstrates how people respond to being motivated and rewarded. The surprising thing: people don’t respond well to the “do this, get this” reward system – surprisingly, financial incentives can actually have a negative impact on overall performance. Instead, he suggests to rely on the following three things: autonomy, mastery and purpose.
